Rental Terms

1. Flexible Rental Terms

We offer flexible rental options ranging from 1 to 12 months, allowing you to choose a term that best fits your needs.

The longer the rental period, the lower the monthly rate, helping reduce your overall cost.

Pricing is automatically calculated based on your selected term, with final charges determined according to the payment structure and total cost details.

2. Payments & Billing

All rentals require an initial deposit at the time of order. Expedited requests may be subject to an additional rush fee.

BOBFURNI applies different payment structures based on the selected rental term:

  • For short-term rentals (1–3 months), the remaining balance is due in full upon delivery, after deducting the initial deposit.
  • For longer-term rentals (over 3 months), the payment structure includes the initial deposit, a first payment upon delivery, followed by ongoing monthly billing.

3. After Your Term

After the agreed rental term ends, the rental will automatically continue on a month-to-month basis unless the furniture is returned or a new agreement is signed. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the monthly rate will remain unchanged. During the month-to-month period, you may end the rental at any time without any additional termination fees.

4. Early Termination (During Fixed Term)

If you choose to terminate the rental before the end of the agreed fixed term, an early termination fee will apply.

This fee will be calculated using the following two methods, and the lower amount will be charged:

  1. 50% of the remaining unpaid rent for the unfulfilled term;
  2. Recalculation of the total rent based on the actual rental period (using the applicable rate for that term), with any difference between the recalculated amount and the amount already paid.

This fee is intended to reasonably cover reserved rental capacity and pricing arrangements, and is not a penalty.

5. Delivery & Condition Confirmation

Upon delivery, you are required to inspect all furniture and confirm its condition at the time of handover. Any existing wear, defects, or cosmetic imperfections must be noted and documented at that time. Once delivery is confirmed, all items will be deemed accepted in good condition and suitable for normal use, except for any issues that have been recorded.

6. Normal Use & Care

Furniture is intended for reasonable use in a standard residential environment. Normal wear and minor cosmetic imperfections resulting from everyday use will not incur any charges.

Damage resulting from misuse or negligence—including but not limited to heavy impact, structural damage, burns, significant staining, tearing, or any condition that affects the item’s ability to be re-rented—may be subject to repair or compensation charges.

7.Damage Beyond Normal Wear

If any furniture is damaged beyond normal wear and tear, we will work with you to reach a reasonable resolution.

The customer may fulfill their responsibility in one of the following ways:

  • Provide a replacement item, subject to our prior approval, that is comparable in style, function, and condition to the original item at the time of delivery;
    or
  • Provide reasonable compensation based on the current market value of a comparable item in similar condition, along with any applicable handling or transportation costs.

Any replacement item must be reviewed and approved by us in advance to ensure it meets the required standards. Items purchased without prior approval may not be accepted.

Customers are not required to purchase brand-new items or pay full retail replacement value. The purpose of this policy is to restore the item to an equivalent level of condition and usability.

8. Late or Failed Payments (Applicable to Long-Term Rentals)

For long-term rentals, payments are typically processed through recurring monthly charges to a credit card.

If a payment fails, you will be notified, and we will attempt to process the payment again within 2–3 business days.

If payment remains outstanding for more than 30 days after notification, services may be suspended, the furniture may be repossessed, and any outstanding balances and applicable collection costs may be added.

In such cases, if the rental agreement has not been formally terminated, the situation will be treated as an early termination, and the terms outlined in Section 4 (Early Termination During Fixed Term) will apply.

Specifically, in addition to recovering any unpaid rent up to the date of repossession, the remaining term will be settled in accordance with the early termination provisions (either 50% of the remaining unpaid rent or a recalculation based on the actual rental period, with the lower amount applied).

We always aim to resolve payment issues through communication; however, we reserve the right to pursue outstanding amounts through legal means and to report delinquent accounts to relevant credit reporting agencies where permitted by law.

9. Taxes

All rental charges are subject to applicable taxes. In British Columbia (BC), a 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST) and a 7% Provincial Sales Tax (PST) apply, for a combined rate of 12%.

Taxes are calculated based on each rental payment amount and are included in the total charges at the time of billing.

10. Ownership and Use of Furniture

This rental agreement grants temporary use of the furniture only and does not constitute a financing arrangement or transfer of ownership.

All furniture remains the property of BOB FURNITURE SERVICES LTD at all times. Items are provided for rental use only and are not offered for sale to customers.

All rental payments are strictly for usage and do not contribute toward ownership or purchase value.

If a customer expresses interest in purchasing an item, any such transaction (if applicable) will be handled separately at the prevailing market price at that time. Previously paid rental fees will not be applied toward or deducted from any purchase price.
